In collaboration with its liaison offices, Pro Helvetia supports residencies in India, China, Russia, North Africa and Southern Africa. Swiss artists and cultural practitioners (e.g. curators, event organisers, mediators) in the areas of the visual arts, music, literature, theatre and dance are eligible to apply. At the same time, Pro Helvetia facilitates residencies in Switzerland for artists and cultural practitioners from the above-mentioned regions, including all countries in the Southern Africa region.
The objective of the residencies is to stimulate the development of new thinking and new work and to promote creative and mutual exchange between artists and professional networks in Switzerland and these regions. Artists are encouraged to develop their practice in a climate of cultural diversity.
We work with a network of organisations that can host residencies in different urban centres in Switzerland and across the Southern African region. We look to customise each residency according to the needs of the individual arts professional as far as posssible. Go the the Residency Network page to find out more about these organisations.
Applicants may only apply for one destination at a time via www.myprohelvetia.ch
